On the interactive map on the UNWTO (Sustainable Development) website, which shows world
practices for the development of sustainable tourism, not a single case has been recorded on
the territory of Russia.
In Russia, this topic has not been given due attention, except for specially protected natural areas (PAs). Until we treat our entire natural territory as a protected area and start stimulating entrepreneurs and tour operators with grants / subsidies, there will be no effective sustainable development of the territory.
Regions have clusters and funds, but none of them has financial support in tourism specifically for facilities / services that would comply with the SDGs.
