Evidence-based policy is an emerging trend in public administration. The more complex the challenges and the more limited resources are, the more important it is to make management decisions based on solid evidence and reliable data. According to the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Alexei Kudrin, “Evidence-based policy is a reasonable choice of the best alternatives to create the greatest value for citizens and eliminate abuse and corruption. In essence, this is a rejection of intuitive judgments and ideas about how a specific solution, for example, a federal project or a state program, works, and a transition to argumentation based on reliable data and rigorous estimates of the effects. "
Prospects for the use of evidence-based policy in Russia will be discussed with the participation of representatives of the regions - the winners of the competition of practices and initiatives held by the Accounts Chamber on the use of an evidence-based approach to administrative decision-making.
