XIV round table devoted to international cooperation continues its traditional work on addressing
current challenges, discussing and highlighting the goals of international regional development
and strategic territorial planning, based on the experience of the near and far abroad, as well as
on the leading Russian experience. This year the discussion will be focused on developing
interregional cooperation amidst overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leading experts from Finland, Great Britain, Belgium, France, Switzerland, African countries
and other countries will present their ideas and best practices in the context of the specific
areas and the main topic of the round table in the social, cultural, environmental, economic
fields. In addition, leading Russian experts will share their experience and results regarding the
main themes of the session. The round table will also provide an opportunity to establish direct
contacts and exchange experience of both foreign experts and the Russian authorities.
The XIV International Round Table is planned to include the beginning of an official dialogue between the biggest network regional organizations, international and Russian ones, on the preparation and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This document is going to promote the expansion of direct contacts between regions and organizations, exchange experience, initiate relevant projects, discuss new ideas, develop aspects of cooperation and promote regional development worldwide.
The international round table will draw special attention to the 50th anniversary of the Association of European Border Regions and its fruitful activities.
