Summary
Financial instruments for strengthening cross–border cooperation between the regions of Russia and Belarus are the core topic of the XVIII strategic session -the dialogue of heads of legislative and executive authorities, local self-government, representatives of the expert community, business circles, public organizations. Further actions to develop the experience of cross-border and interregional cooperation in the Baltic Sea region, the practical use of existing knowledge and effective project financing tools can bring the cohesion of the regions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation to a new level to achieve the common Goals of sustainable development of the Union State.
Today, the Governments of Russia and Belarus are successfully working on the implementation of 28 integration programs. Taking into account the current geopolitical realities, it is necessary to increase the role of cross-border and interregional cooperation in the system of support for integration processes and programs of the Union State.
The participants of the dialogue will discuss:
– Scaling up the best practices of cross-border and interregional cooperation between the regions of Russia and Belarus to achieve joint goals of healthy ecology, innovative and technological development, joint solution of social problems, development of sustainable tourism, culture, public diplomacy, and other areas.
– The "Road map" and regulatory aspects of the launch of the interstate Program of cooperation between the regions "Russia – Belarus".
